Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president of the United States. He served the nation from 1861 to 1865. Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest leaders of that time. He led and carried out the United States from the American Civil War. Read below some interesting Abraham Lincoln Facts.

12 February 1809 was the birthdate of Abraham Lincoln as well as Charles Darwin.

Abe was the nickname of Abraham Lincoln. But he hated to be called Abe.

Lincoln was a wrestler in his younger days. He was defeated in just 1 in 300 matches.

With a height of 6 feet and 4 inches, he was the tallest US president and he wore the biggest shoes in US president history. The number of his shoes was 14.

He was a lawyer. Abe practiced law without any degree.

He was also a licensed Bartender.

He was first major leader to propose that women should have rights to vote.

Lincoln started growing his beard,after a 11 year old girl convinced him.

He used his hat as locker. He kept the important document in it.

Abraham Lincoln suffered from depression and avoid carrying knives in fear that he would use those knives on him.

His no any descendants is living. The last one of his known descendants died in 1985, was his great-grandson.

In 2009 it is discovered that there is a secret message engraved in Lincoln’s pocket watch by the jeweler.
